BALLET + TECHNIQUE
-
AGES 10–17
Refine alignment, flexibility, strength and control through advanced barre work and focused conditioning. At this level, the goal is cleaner lines, greater stability and the kind of technical precision that carries into every style of dance.

Nevada Ballet Theatre • Broadway productions • Cirque du SoleilBallet technique builds the control, placement and body awareness that professional dancers rely on far beyond classical ballet.
-
AGES 10–17
Take advanced ballet technique beyond the barre with center and floor work designed to strengthen balance, transitions, movement quality and precision.

Nevada Ballet Theatre • Broadway Las Vegas • Large-scale production showsProfessional choreography demands dancers who can move cleanly through transitions, retain corrections and maintain technique while performing—not just at the barre.
-
AGES 10–17
Build the foot and ankle strength, alignment, stability and technical foundation required for safe progression toward pointe work.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Nevada Ballet Theatre • Classical productions • College & conservatory dance programsFor dancers pursuing ballet-intensive opportunities, pointe training can become an important part of their technical foundation and training résumé.
-
AGES 10–17
Push technical skills further through focused training in turns, leaps, jumps, tricks and the mechanics needed to perform them with power, control and consistency.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Cirque du Soleil • Las Vegas production shows • Commercial danceThis is where technique becomes performance-ready. Professional dancers aren't simply expected to have impressive skills—they need to deliver them cleanly, confidently and repeatedly.
-
AGES 10–17
Train the body behind the choreography through strength, flexibility, stability, endurance and movement conditioning.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Cirque du Soleil • Professional dance companies • Live entertainmentProfessional performance is physically demanding. Conditioning helps dancers build the stamina, control and physical resilience required for long rehearsals and repeated performances.
Cirque is an especially legitimate reference here: its current Las Vegas productions include highly athletic performance environments, with shows such as O, Mystère and Michael Jackson ONE.
CONTEMPORARY + COMMERCIAL
-
AGES 10–17
Refine movement quality, musicality and storytelling while developing the control and emotional connection that transform choreography into a performance.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Cirque du Soleil • Contemporary performance • College dance programsAt the professional level, technique is only part of the job. Dancers need to communicate, interpret choreography and make an audience feel something—skills that become increasingly important in contemporary and theatrical work.
-
AGES 10–17
Combine strong jazz foundations with commercial movement, sharp dynamics, musicality and individual style through fast-paced choreography.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Michael Jackson ONE • Las Vegas production shows • Commercial danceThis is one of the clearest bridges into commercial performance. Michael Jackson ONE, for example, currently combines acrobatics with urban dance and choreography in a cast of dancers and other performers.
HIP HOP + COMMERCIAL MOVEMENT
-
AGES 10–17
Advance grooves, musicality, dynamics and choreography while developing greater control, confidence and an authentic individual movement style.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Michael Jackson ONE • Commercial dance • Music-driven live entertainmentHip hop expands a dancer's versatility for commercial work and entertainment-driven choreography. ACRO + SPECIALTY SKILLS
-
AGES 10–17
Develop advanced strength, flexibility, balance, control and acrobatic skills while learning to integrate those abilities naturally into movement and choreography.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Cirque du Soleil • Specialty performance • Large-scale production entertainmentIn a market like Las Vegas, specialty skills can become a serious asset. Acrobatics won't replace strong dance technique—but having both can make a performer significantly more versatile. Cirque's Las Vegas productions are particularly clear examples of environments where dance, theatricality and high-level acrobatic skills intersect.
TAP + RHYTHM
-
AGES 10–17
Refine footwork, timing, clarity and rhythmic complexity while developing the musicality needed for increasingly sophisticated choreography.
SEE IT ON STAGE →

AGES 10–17
Combine dance, acting, character work and vocal performance while learning how to command the stage as a complete performer.
SEE IT ON STAGE →
Broadway Las Vegas • The Smith Center • Musical theatre & production showsFor dancers interested in theatre, being able to dance, act and sing dramatically expands the roles they can pursue. The Smith Center's current Broadway Las Vegas series brings touring Broadway productions directly to Las Vegas, making that career path something these dancers can literally see on stages in their own city.
ARTISTRY + CREATION
-
AGES 10–17
Stop thinking only like the dancer receiving choreography and start thinking like the artist creating it. Explore improvisation, composition, creative choices and developing an individual movement voice.
SEE IT IN THE INDUSTRY →

These skills can also open paths beyond performing—including choreography, creative direction and creating original work.

PARENT + DANCER DETAILS
Know Before You Go.
Serious training comes with bigger expectations. Here’s what dancers and families should know before taking the next step.
02
What should I wear?
Dress requirements vary by discipline, but advanced dancers should arrive in proper dancewear with the correct shoes, hair secured and everything needed to train without distraction.
03
How does placement work?
Age is only part of the equation. Technique, experience, maturity and readiness all matter at this level. Instructor evaluation helps place each dancer where they’ll be challenged while continuing to progress safely.
04
What’s expected of me?
Come ready to work. Advanced training requires consistency, focus, preparation and a willingness to take corrections. Dancers are expected to support their teammates, respect the rehearsal process and take ownership of their growth.
